There were no injuries in an afternoon house fire at 25440 W. Pastoral Drive in Plainfield on Monday, October 5th. At 12:30 pm a neighbor called 9-1-1 to report a fire in the back of the 2-story, single family home. At 12:33 pm the response was upgraded to a full still and the fire was brought under control at 12:48 pm. There is heavy smoke damage throughout the home and it is uninhabitable. The estimated damage to the home was upgraded to be $200,000 to $250,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Plainfield Fire Protection District, the Plainfield Police Department and the MABAS 15 Fire Investigators. Assistance in fighting the fire was provided by Oswego Fire Protection District and the Naperville Fire Department. Station coverage for Plainfield during the fire was provided by the Bolingbrook Fire Department and Lockport, Minooka and Troy Fire Protection Districts.
