On Saturday, May 9th the Plainfield Fire Protection District Firefighters and Paramedics were at the entrances to Wal-Mart, 12690 S. Route 59, for a “Fill the Boot” fundraiser for the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance’s burn camp called “Camp I Am Me.” We are pleased to announce that $2,795 was collected and the Plainfield Fire Department added $1,205 to donate a total of $4,000 to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance for “Camp I Am Me.”

“Camp I Am Me” is for children and teens that have experienced a burn injury. Through the generosity of donations, supporters and volunteers the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance is able to provide this summer camp experience at no cost. If you know of a young burn survivor who would benefit from attending “Camp I Am Me” or would like additional information about the program call (847) 390-0911, email ifsa@ifsa.org, or visit www.IFSA.org. The Plainfield Fire Protection District thanks everyone for their continued support of “Camp I Am Me.”
