Mission Statement
The mission of the PFPD Foundation is: To support the community through scholarship, service, and honoring members of the Plainfield Fire District family in life and loss.
The goal of the PFPD Foundation is to:
Provide Scholarships
The J. D. Eichelberger Public Safety Scholarship awards $1,000 to four students who live in the Plainfield Fire Protection District via the PFPD Foundation. The PFPD Foundation gives the scholarship funds through Plainfield School District 202 Foundation to honor former Fire Chief John Eichelberger who retired in 2015 after 40 years of dedicated service to the fire protection district.
Recipients will be chosen based on grades; financial need; and acceptance with proof of full-time enrollment at an acceptable institution.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a resident of the Plainfield Fire Protection District and plan to major in the Fire Service, Public Safety, Medical or Emergency Services at a fully accredited state or private university or college.
Recognize new life brought to the members of the Plainfield Fire Protection District
Memorialize members of the fire service and their families
The means of collecting funds to achieve our goals:
Receive monetary donations
Accept vehicle donations (will provide tax donation letters)
