At approximately 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Western Will County Communication Center (WESCOM) received a 911 call stating there was a fire in a single-family home in the 25100 block of W. Pauline Drive in Plainfield.

The first arriving fire units arrived and found a fire in the home’s basement. Firefighters quickly deployed a hose line and started to extinguish the fire. The family who was home at the time was able to escape safely and was not injured. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. Damage to the home is estimated to be approximately $75,000.00.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District was assisted on the scene by the Troy Fire Protection District, and Joliet Fire Department.
