Emergency Medical Services
When minutes matter most

PFPD Firefighter/Paramedics deliver Advanced Life Support emergency medical care from four stations, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and responding to over 5,600 calls annually across the District's 54 square mile service area.

Our Mission

Advanced life support for every patient

Every frontline member of the Plainfield Fire Protection District is a licensed Firefighter/Paramedic, trained to provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency medical care. From cardiac emergencies and strokes to trauma and pediatric calls, our crews deliver ALS-level assessment and intervention on every response.

EMS accounts for the majority of the District's call volume. Our paramedics carry cardiac monitors, advanced airway equipment, a full medication formulary, and 12-lead ECG capability — transmitting real-time data to receiving hospitals so treatment begins before the patient arrives.
