CPR & first aid classes
The Plainfield Fire Protection District is an authorized American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center. We offer CPR, AED, and first aid courses taught by PFPD personnel — giving you hands-on training from the same firefighter/paramedics who respond to emergencies in your community.
Classes are open to residents and businesses within the PFPD service area. Browse the available courses below and register using the scheduling tool at the bottom of this page.

Basic Life Support
AHA BLS course for healthcare providers and professional rescuers. Covers high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, AED use, and team-based resuscitation.
Note: Renewal courses are no longer offered for BLS. All participants take the full course.
Healthcare providersHeartsaver CPR/AED
Designed for anyone who wants to learn CPR and AED skills. Covers adult, child, and infant CPR, choking relief, and how to use an automated external defibrillator.
General publicAdult First Aid / CPR / AED
Combines CPR/AED training with practical first aid skills — treating bleeding, burns, allergic reactions, broken bones, and other common emergencies for adults.
General public · WorkplacesPediatric First Aid / CPR / AED
Covers infant and child CPR, AED use, choking, and first aid skills specific to pediatric emergencies. Meets OSHA and state childcare licensing requirements.

If you've completed the AHA online portion of a Heartsaver or BLS course, schedule an in-person skills session to complete your certification with hands-on practice and testing.
Online course completionOn-site CPR and first aid training is available for businesses within the fire district. We'll bring the class to your workplace — no need to send employees off-site. Contact us for scheduling and pricing information.
